Shirley Yeung Has A Low Limit In Patience

The ratings of the newly released "The Silver Chamber Of Sorrows" has brought Shirley Yeung a big chance to earn more money, but she hasn't forgetten the Sichuan Earthquake crisis just yet. As the saying goes: "it is more blessed to give than to receive, so on the top of donating money and helping out as much as you can, you also learn to treasure those around you. Shirley says: "Every time I watch the news, I see many people who has lost their family. One most memorable incident was a teacher who managed to save four children. In the end they had to cut both their arms off - that selfless spirit was great!"

With a level 8 earthquake striking Sichuan, it allowed Shirley to think over the theory of environmental rights to pursure harmonious coexistence for man and nature. She says: "There are times when everything goes in a flash, so therefore you must keep reminding yourself to treat the people around you better." In the series "The Silver Chamber Of Sorrows", Shirley portrayed a maid but in reality, she has a clear pitiful look. However, she does not mind: "I have actually got good patience, but if I am teased very badly, there is actually a limit. Though, the limit is very low."

In addition, Shirley had to cut most of her long hair for her new series "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly". She says: "At first no one recognised me but I was very happy that I had received good comments rather than bad ones. To film series you must try different looks so next time I hope to become ugly, or a female ghost. This way, I can challenge myself!"

"Forensic Heroes 2" Cast Celebrates Charmaine Sheh's Birthday

TVB series "Forensic Heroes 2" held a promotional event yesterday afternoon. As the event is water theme, most of the actors were topless while some of the actresses wore sexy swimwear such as Shirley Yeung, Shermon Tang, Vivien Yeo etc. However, the lead actresses Charmaine Sheh and Yoyo Mung chose a more conservative style. Even though Charmaine covered her bikini with a T-shirt, she remains the center of attention as it was her birthday yesterday. Stephen Huynh was late to the event, therefore they urged him to give Charmaine a birthday kiss.

Charmaine laughed and said that she did wear bikini, and her shorts are full of polka 'dots'. When asked if other actresses stole the attention by wearing sexy swimsuit, Charmaine said she did not pay attention as she is not a guy. Instead she really wanted to see Bobby Au in Speedo with his round belly so she was disappointed that he didn't attend today.

When reporters point out that she is the most sexy today, Shirley smiled and thanked them for complimenting her figure. Shirley also made some safety precaution on her swimsuit earlier. In the series, Shirley portrays a girl with the face of an angel but the heart of a devil. She also indicates that there are plenty of fiery scenes between her and Charmaine. When asked if they get along, she said that they are ok and their chemistry is much better after "Angels Of Mission". When Charmaine was asked about her scenes with Shirley, she said that everyone have plenty of interesting scenes in the series.

Mentioning of the rumor of TVB selling off stake, Charmaine expressed that Uncle Six (Sir Run Run Shaw) is a good boss and the company have always been operating smoothly therefore she hope there won't be any changes. She joked that maybe they should give assurance by increasing the salary.

During the game session the male cast members pulled Vivien into the water. Afterward she covered her face with the towel and they thought she was crying. Vivien later explained that she's not crying but because her contact lens was almost flushed off by the water. Regarding being pulled into the water by the guys, she laughed: "Maybe I have terrible social relationship! (Why are you avoiding sexy image today?) I'm a conservative person! Plus, Charmaine is the real star today, so I shouldn't steal the limelight." Vivien said that she is not always dressed sexily.

Producer Mui Siu Ching punished the guys by having them lined up and kicked into the water by the girls.

Shirley Yeung & Jack Wu Fake Going Out But Find Real Money

*Click on above image for a bigger view.

In the new TVB series "The Silver Mansion Of Sorrows", Jack Wu and Shirley Yeung play lovers. Being their fifth collaboration with each other, the two hope to become lovers behind the screens!

Jack expresses that he hopes to becomes a 'lovers group' with Shirley, he says: "I don't mind becoming lovers behind the screen. It'll be even better if we turned out like Lee Heung Kam and Tam Ping Man! I feel that every time we work together, we know each other even more than last time. Although we always seem to be playing lovers, but the feeling is just like brothers and sisters, because the feeling Shirley gives me is just like a sister - since she needs people to look after her. However, I prefer girls who are independent and those who have their own opinions, so I'll give this cup of tea to someone else."

Shirley had exaggerated about her appearance being similar to that of Jack's but in reality they're a "天作之「合」". As for the issue of becoming on-screen lovers, she says: "Whether if its height or figure, we look really good together when you look at us. We really look like lovers and plus the number of times we've worked together, we have a tacit understanding between us, so becoming lovers behind the screen isn't hard." (Jack said you weren't his cup of tea?) "I get the same brothers and sisters feeling too! It's like no matter what troubles I get myself into, I can always ask him for help and he would also help me. We have a really strong brothers and sister's bond, so I don't believe there will be any real love between us."

Return Of TVB's Good Bad & Ugly

The costume fitting ceremony was held today for the remake of TVB classic series "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly". The leading cast members were revealed as Wayne Lai, Sonija Kwok, Eric Suen, Vivien Yeo, Shirley Yeung, Paul Chun and Lily Ho.

Sonija revealed that her character is a skilled at making clay models so she has been taking lessons from colleague Griselda Yeung. She added that her character will have a romance with Wayne in the show.

Asked about previous rumours about her animosity with Shirley in the past, Sonija insisted that they have always been amicable and they will have some scenes together in the new series.

When Wayne was asked if he was worried about rumours brewing after working with Sonija, he said boldly that he does not attract gossip, so he will be fine.

Eric's character will become entangled in a three-way romance with Shirley and Vivien and speaking of his first TVB role, he is pleased that he is finally making something that his mother will watch. Asked if he will have any kissing scenes with the ladies, Eric laughed that he would like to have some because he wants to kiss everyone.

After earlier rumours of a romance brewing between Vivien and Eric, she was asked if she felt awkward about filming with him. She said that she did not mind, but was worried that the gossip would scare away any prospective boyfriends. However, when she was asked to pose with Eric, she insisted on dragging Shirley over to join them.

The series will include elements from the popular original series from 1979, which saw actors such as Chow Yun Fat, Carol Cheng, Liu Wai Hung and Simon Yam propelled to stardom. Respected producer Mui Siu Ching will be taking the helm on the new series.

Shirley Yeung’s Parents Supports Her At Show

Yesterday, there was a fashion show at Citywalk. Shirley Yeung and Joycelyn Luko modeled at the show. Shirley and her parents were in attendance. They went out to eat and shopped around to celebrate. Shirley also gave money to her mom so her mom can buy what she liked. The reaction to the TVB series “The Silver Chamber of Sorrows” is fairly good. Her parents also praised Shirley’s acting which made Shirley very happy. Shirley pointed out that she wasn’t able to cover her body in the scenes which people beat her. She felt all the punches.

Joycelyn’s mom wasn’t in Hong Kong so she ordered flowers on the internet for her mom and grandma. Joycelyn’s wedding date is nearing and she told the reporters that the wedding ceremony would be on the beach. She would go to Maldives for her honeymoon.

Shirley Yeung: You Don't Need Tiffany?

Two-three years ago, there wasn’t much of a need so she only needed the brand “Starrywood”, which produced Mickey Mouse, Felix The Cat clothing to sponsor her.

The Shirley Yeung nowdays doesn’t need anything. She says: “When I earn money, I would give it to my mother to save it up for me - in preparation for emergencies.” Anyways, she has a new clothing sponsor, an Italian brand Perme, “is quite stylish”. Although the word “stylish” isn’t stylish at all, but it has definitely improved. (What is stylish this season?) “I believe it’s those star designs. I’ve actually asked colleagues who are into the latest fashion! I was right. “People at home also read fashion magazines.”

“You must improve when wearing clothes because people will mature!” Shirley has been interviewed many years ago, and it is obvious that she has taken hold of opportunities.

Speaking about “Forensic Heroes 2”, since Shirley plays a guest star in the series and there have been numerous rumours saying that she has not been getting along with the female lead, Charmaine Sheh - even though there are plenty of scenes between the two. “It’s like science! Because my character is quite independent, there is much fire in my eyes.”

The issue about boyfriend Gregory Lee being seen with Shirley at Macdonald’s was brought up. (I’ve [reporter] been to Kowloon City a lot of times but I never see the spokespeople of Macdonald’s like Eason and Joey there.) “Really? Why not ask to be the spokesperson? I’m lovin’ it!” (You’re really desperate for money?) “I believe that looking after my family and being greedy for money are two separate things.”

Her speech skills have matured.
Shirley doesn’t need Tiffany because she is already 29 years of age.

Half a year ago, Shirley’s exposure rate was quite high, but it wasn’t due to filming high-definition promotional clips - it was because she took part of hosting a magazine which asked people to invest their finance. Recently, rather asking showing people to see beautiful real estates, there was also a series “The Silver Chamber Of Sorrows” where she played a maid, as a guest star in “Forensic Heroes 2” and now is one of the leads in new series “The Good, The Bad & The Ugly”. In the eyes of the media, it means she has been unfroze, but in her eyes, it’s a different story. “I really don’t think I was frozen. I have been working everyday, it was great. The money in my pocket has also increased and I even look better!”

Haven’t been filming for 9 months, there was another explanation. “I also believe that long series were filming during that time. ‘The Gem Of Life’ is 80 episodes long and ‘The Drive Of Life’ was 60. Many artistes have been held up for 6 to 9 months, so there weren’t much 20 episode series being produced.”

We have found our reason for being frozen - dating in public. “Do you think that’s the reason?” (I think that is some-what the reason.) “Everytime this issue is brought up, it’s always this reason. I really don’t think it has anything to do with it. The time when I wasn’t filming, many other artistes were like that too. Don’t need to worry about me, haha. I’ve always been quiet low-profile with dating. It is a normal part of my life and it’s not like we’re not letting people know.”

From last time we had an interview with Shirley; it is obvious that she has matured. Starting from small issues, “I have previously driven an Echo car for 5 years but I have changed it recently to a 7-seater car. I want my family to be more comfortable.” However, what had only changed was the outer appearance, “the soft toys? I have also put them back in the 7-seater car.”

Shirley had earlier lived in a ‘village’ in Saigon, but now she lives with her parents in scenaric house worth $HK 4 million in Lai Chi Kok. “We’re still paying off the mortgage. It’s more convenient in the city, but I like living in ‘villages’ more and there is more space for my 7 dogs to run around.”

She is changing more than ever, but in clothes sense: “My friends give me lots of suggestions, but many of the clothes are sponsored. Though, the clothes you see my in on the streets are my own. In the past, whenever I knew I would have to attend a function, I would then go out to buy new clothes. Now, it’s like I collecting books at home. If I see something I like, I would immediately buy it, as there will be times I can wear it eventually.”

There is also the fairytale world Shirley cannot say goodbye to. “I still like Hello Kitty and Mickey Mouse. I have a lot of soft toys and pyjamas of them but mostly of them are at home.”

In two interviews, we talked for 8 hours. I’m quite sure that Shirley likes to earn money, but she is definitely not arrogant - especially the times when you think of her boyfriend, Gregory Lee. After dating for 4 years, majority of newspaper headings and articles are always about the girl earning more money than the guy. “Reporters are always like that. With people writing like that about you is quite upsetting but it depends on how you interpret it. I have comforted him and that we are dating normally like anyone else would. It’s just wrong how people write about us like that.” As you can imagine, there is a lot of pressure put upon Gregory. “On the positive side, we both have to work even harder in our job with our determined effort.”

“I believe that money and love are definitely two different things. Even if you get married to someone rich, you might not be happy. The time he spends with you is very little, so it’s not just money that makes someone happy. Maybe because when I was young, we didn’t have that much money, so my mum had always taught me to be thrifty. I want to earn more money so that my family will have good days. I am frugal, but not greedy with money - they are two different things.”

Gregory has a lot of time on his hand, “Do you see him much? It’s ok. If we don’t see each other, we can still talk on the phone.... my whole family talks too!” Next up will be very sweet. Is he ideal person for marriage? “He’s pretty good. When I’m on a date, the aim is not having fun. We get along quite well, and our communication with each other is good. I’m a quiet person whereas he’s one who moves a lot, haha, but when he’s quiet I’m loud. It’s good that we both work well together, but sometimes he has a lot to talk about!”

Throughout the whole interview, the most surprising is this part. “In ‘Forensic Heroes 2’, Charmaine Sheh is the police and so she has to question me, we have quite a lot of scenes together.” I haven’t even asked yet, but she continued talking. “There are the most scenes with Charmaine in ‘Angels Of Mission’. Did you know there were a lot of science-related matters when we were filming? Because we were all facing one other, and there were sparks in our eyes. The words added even more provocation to it.”

I remember when asking about not getting along with one another, Shirley kept on saying no. This time, there are bones, but since they’re so big, you’ll definitely notice them. There is a chance you might choke someone to death. There is no comparison when being compared to the TV Queen. “I just said the result is very good, everyone did a great job. Those were just for series promotion, it’s not a big deal. We don’t feel awkward when we see each other and we chat sometimes too.”

In the end, Shirley suddenly remembers: “Ah! Can you please thank Siu Ching Jie (‘Forensic Heroes 2’ producer) for me? Also, have to thank Terry Tong (‘The Silver Chamber Of Sorrows’ producer) as well. They both gave me such a big chance.”

30 years of age. “Don’t remind me. Entering a time where a 3 comes first seems weird. It’s like I have to push myself to do even more work.” Shirley is actually 30 at the end of the year. However, she is not like any other female artistes. She gives many people the impression that she is not mature enough. “I’m actually starting to look more mature now. I’m maturing, I’m maturing. Make-up artist can’t help laughing. “Having a baby face has its advantages. You can work for a few more years.”

Shirley plays a maid in “The Silver Chamber of Sorrows”. When she had flown to Kuala Lumpar for promotion, “people would call me Chow Gook! I was really happy about that.”

Shirley claims that she has not contacted Charmaine privately. It’s normal as they are two different people. Shirley believes a dress that is worth $2000 is expensive. Luckily, Gregory and Ron Ng are two different people as well.

In 2004, Shirley won the “Most Improved Actress” award and in 2007, won the “Best Supporting Actress” award.

In “The Good, The Bad & The Ugly”, Shirley will be paired up with Eric Suen and Vivien Yeo will be their third party. In real life, has such thing happened? “I would step out because it’s too complicated. All of a sudden there is an extra leg in the space inbetween two people, very hard!” But she doesn’t need to worry; I believe that Gregory is quite faithful to Shirley.

2001 Miss Hong Kong winner is Shirley Yeung, 1st runner up is Gigi Chung and 2nd runner up is Heidi Chu. After participating in the pageant, they all went for their driver’s license, but actually a “van” license.

At the end of the year, Shirley will turn 30. She says that she hasn’t been online much, and just been to yum-cha with family.

Shirley Yeung Takes Off To Malaysia For "Super Trio Show Supreme" Filming

Koni Lui, Shirley Yeung, Vivien Yeo and "Super Trio Leader" Eric Tsang set off to Malaysia to film outdoor scenes for the new variety show "Super Trio Show Supreme". Guests also included the Angie Cheong who had just come back from working in Beijing last year. Earlier, Shirley had injured her neck, so before she departed to Malaysia, she had to have acupuncture treatment. This time Eric Tsang had invited her to be on the show but only play simple games. Shirley laughs and said she will treat it as a vacation. She had taken T-shirts, shorts and swim wear but she declared will not give sex appeal "I will probably wear a top over my swimwear". (But it's very hot!) "I'm a 'cold nature' person! I think being comfortable is most important".

Shirley Yeung & Gregory Lee Try To Avoid Being Seen On A Date

Shirley Yeung has recently been accepting so many shows that her hands are sore and was able to earn extra earnings. Also, she was seen with a brand new black 7-person car which cost over twenty thousand HK dollar in total. Yesterday around 4pm in the afternoon, reporters saw Shirley, her boyfriend Gregory Lee and two other doctor friends at a café at Kowloon City. At first, each person seemed to having a good time but when Shirley noticed that reporters were taking pictures of them, she appeared to be embarrassed. As for Gregory, he kept his head low and quickly finished his meal.

After a while, Gregory stood up and paid for the bill, then went to get the car. When Shirley waited until her boyfriend left, she then slowly walked out of the café.

Shirley Yeung & Boyfriend Share Common Views About Their Wedding

Yesterday Shirley Yeung and Fiona Yuen appeared at a shopping centre taking part in an “Indonesia Festival” function. Respectively, the two were seen wearing a red and gold Indonesian bridal gown with “Lum Kee” husband to demonstrate a traditional wedding ceremony; evening following traditional customs such as kneeling down in front of elders and kissing the back of their hands.

Wearing such a red outfit and a huge head accessory, Shirley expresses that the head accessory is very heavy. She also believes that Indonesian wedding ceremonies has its own special characteristics. Reporters were also joking that when she was to marry in the future, will she do the same? She says: “I would like to combine both eastern and western weddings together, the one where I would wear both the traditional Chinese wedding gown and white wedding dress, because I am a Chinese person. It’s also once in a lifetime!” Shirley was continued to be asked about the time she and Gregory Lee will be getting married, she says: “We have no plans at all, because both of us puts work in front first. Mentioning that her age isn’t young, Shirley laughs that many people nowadays are getting married later, so when the right time comes, that will be the time to get married.
